Cayuga Lake

Cornell on one shore. Wine country on the other.

38 miles long, 435 feet deep, anchored by Ithaca to the south and Seneca Falls to the north — the second-longest of the Finger Lakes.

About Cayuga Lake

Cayuga is the second-longest of the Finger Lakes — 38 miles top to bottom, 3.5 wide at its widest, 435 feet at its deepest. Ithaca sits at the south end with Cornell, the gorge trails, and the region's busiest dining scene. The east shore holds the Cayuga Wine Trail — Chardonnay country here, less Riesling than Seneca. Taughannock Falls drops 215 feet on the west shore, taller than Niagara.
