The trip you'd have planned anyway.
A 657-square-foot cottage on Seneca Lake's east shore in Burdett, built right at the waterline — the dock starts at the porch, not a walk from it. One bedroom with a queen, a kitchen with room to cook a real dinner for four, and a picture window over the water that does most of the decorating on its own. Sleeps two comfortably, four at a push. Two dogs are welcome with advance notice, kept to the cottage side of the grounds — the shoreline and the dock are theirs too. Kayaks and paddleboards come with the rental, and two fire pits cover sunset and after-dark without competing for the same seats. Route 414's wine country runs along the ridge a few minutes up the hill, and Watkins Glen's gorge trail is a short drive south, though most guests admit the dock wins more often than the itinerary does. Hosted directly by Sarah — no property-management queue, no added fees at checkout.
