A 50-foot tower built in 1942-43 from more than 1,500 stones sent from all 48 states and 21 countries, including one from Franklin D. Roosevelt's Hyde Park estate — conceived by a local tourism booster to demonstrate American unity after Pearl Harbor. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2015.
